Gitarcafe, a truly unique music venue in Kadıköy. It is both a cozy café and an extraordinary concert house. On the second floor of a hundred-year building called Taranto, pushing the physical boundaries of its walls, Gitarcafe brings musicians who know no borders in music to its guests…

One of the choices that distinguishes Gitarcafe is that it is located on the Anatolian side of İstanbul, in Kadıköy. However, the main reason is that both its hosts and guests have a completely different approach to Gitarcafe, which, for the past 5 years, has been hosting musicians from Anatolia and abroad who make music in different genres, ranging from the amateur to the professional. This place is a place where after concerts you can chat with the musician you really like and you could only have listened form afar in other concerts. It is a place where another guest sitting next to you in the audience can suddenly jump onto the stage and join the rest on the stage…Despite the service of drinks and food, it is a place where people focus on the music listening quietly while at other times it is filled with cheerful listeners…

With its team of musicians, ethnomusicologists and music lovers who, just like in traditional lifestyles, contribute by working together in a cooperative manner, Gitarcafe is a musical meeting point…Apart from being a concert venue, it continues to be a place which offers its guests workshops on music, painting and language, making its guests come back after once being there.
